Crowning the experience

Along the winding ways of the Langhe-Roero, a few surprising eye-openers still lie hidden.

Traditional shops and well-established wineries open their doors to visitors wishing to experiment with new flavours, but also to listen to the unusual tales told by the wines, cheeses and truffles and all the other goods that have been produced for centuries in these lands.

A myriad of paths for walks and mountain biking wind their way through woods and hills, sometimes meeting again in a small town or hamlet, in a relentless and congenial fusion between history and nature.

There is no end to the ways your stay can be enriched; at any moment, the villas can unleash a treasure chest full of iconic experiences, aimed at reviving a sense of wonder and curiosity and those intuitive insights that forge meaningful memories. We will be delighted to organise a private tasting session with a sommelier or an exclusive cooking class with a local chef – stopping to shop for raw materials at the market – or a wine and dine tour of Alba accompanied by an expert local guide, and any number of additional activities.

Our advice to you is to let this wild, magical corner of Piedmont open a dialogue with you and reveal your own special desires.

Discover Casa San Grato

Here, days unfold at an easy pace, shaped by shared meals, outdoor play, and the simple joy of being together.

Designed for Family Time

An elegant countryside haven offering space, serenity, and an ideal setting for meaningful family moments.

Quality moments

Waking to find yourself immersed in woodlands and vineyards, lazing by the pool while watching the children play, lying in the shade of an ancient chestnut tree with a good book, playing an easy game of table football or table tennis while pizzas bake in the wood-fired oven, or simply browsing your private selection of fine wines before dinner — the day unfolds with effortless pleasure. And if tired after exploring the countless trekking, cycle and mountain-bike paths in the surrounding area and feel like tasting a local truffle with a glass of Barbera, you simply head downstairs. Your perfect day isn’t over yet: there’s still time to sink into pure relaxation in the living room, carried away by the notes of the grand piano, and to savour the countryside’s quiet magic under twinkling stars.

Personality of indoor areas

Casa San Grato is a place where traditional and contemporary styles blend effortlessly with a range of bright colours. Our aim is to offer absolute comfort while giving the interiors a distinctive character that combines refinement with classic charm. The living and dining areas, with large windows that flood the spaces with light, open onto sweeping views of the valley, set against the vivid shades of the pool. On the opposite side, the spacious kitchen—designed to meet every culinary need—stands out for its versatility and practical features. The villa’s bedrooms, painted in delicate tones, envelop guests in a warm embrace that encourages restorative sleep. Each room is named after a local wine, celebrating Piedmont’s winemaking heritage and deepening the villa’s bond with its territory. For added privacy and comfort, every room features its own en-suite bathroom.

The wonderland garden

The outdoor areas of Casa San Grato, conceived as an inclusive space to engage guests of all ages with a wide variety of needs, extend a warm invitation to enjoy tranquil moments of peace and quiet, though equally susceptible to be a breeding ground of brilliant ideas. The little ones can enjoy a play area designed especially for them, complete with a slide; the more active guests have their own special space for storing bikes, a covered area for table tennis and table football; and food lovers can alternate between a wood-fired oven and a gas-fired barbecue to prepare delicacies. Every activity comes to life against a spellbinding hillside backdrop: the villa stands on a panoramic viewpoint that keeps the surrounding beauty forever in sight.

The warmth of home

Immersed in a vibrant palette of natural colours, Casa San Grato opens onto timeless views. Here refinement joins with the warmth of a place designed to recreate the reassuring feel of a family home. The spacious, light-filled rooms, the scent of wood and the fragrance of flowers echo the gentle energy that flows from the outdoor spaces. The courtyard can instantly transform into a lively echo-chamber of children’s laughter, with umpteen entertaining activities, centuries-old trees and crystal-clear waters, or into a setting for cheerful chatter beneath shady pergolas and on the terraces overlooking the horizon. Every detail inspires a sense of togetherness, even in the villa’s most intimate and secluded corners.

    Testimonials

We had a lovely stay in Martinas AirBnB. It was incredibly big, everyone had there own bathroom, several balconies and a cozy living Room with a piano and a big dining area next to the kitchen. There also was a wine cellar! It was warm and clean and Laura was taking care of us amazingly! Our car broke down on our way to the AirBnB, which caused a very late arrival and Laura was very understanding and available all the time and welcoming us warmly. She proactively suggested a lot of restaurants and things to do in the area. We chose a truffle hunt and Laura coordinated everything perfectly. Grazie mille!

We absolutely loved everything about our stay. My family came for my Dad’s 70th birthday and it was the perfect way to celebrate all within the same space. Marina helped us organise a range of experiences to make the trip even more special, with the highlight being the 4 course lunch and vineyard tour for my mum and dad. The beauty of the surrounding area was breathtaking, both the views from the property itself and also driving about the nearby towns. The photos can’t possibly do the actual house justice, everything you could want and need was catered for. Highlights would include the playroom round from the pool for our younger kids to get some respite from the warm sun, the beautiful piano, and the views from the balconies at sunset. Marina was friendly, helpful and very responsive to our every query and request. We hope to return next year and already looking forward to it! Highly recommend.

It’s the second time that the same group of friends (15 of us) has come back to Casa San Grato. Three years had passed since our last visit, yet it felt like coming “home”- and that’s exactly how we felt for the whole stay. The house is beautiful and extremely comfortable, tastefully furnished and very well maintained. Having en-suite bathrooms for 7 out of 8 bedrooms is priceless! The kitchen setup - dishes, cookware and appliances - is, of course, perfectly suited to hosting a larger group (as we were). Marina is an attentive host: present, helpful and always available. A special mention goes to the wine cellar, beautifully organised and stocked with excellent bottles!

Our stay was simply perfect! Maria welcomed us warmly and made us feel at home right from the start. Her friendliness and attentiveness made the stay particularly pleasant. The accommodation was spotless, cozy, and excellently equipped – there was truly nothing missing. Maria paid attention to the little details that made our stay even more special. Whether it was her recommendations for the area or the atmosphere in the accommodation – everything was thoughtfully arranged and filled with care. We felt completely comfortable and can wholeheartedly recommend this place. Thank you, Maria, for this wonderful experience!

It was the second time we enjoyed this amazing place for a professional workshop. As the last time, contacts between the booking and until departure were proactive, kind and the team is really responsive, what is really helpful to prepare the journey. To the place itself: what a blast! 8 spacious rooms with bathroom, big dining table inside & outside, swimming pool and way more... we enjoyed every moments at this place, having a great view from the terrace and a quiet neighborhood. Around the house there are a lot of village to be visited, lots of wines to taste too! Thanks again to you Marina for renting this amazing house!
    Rafael
Our family spent the Christmas in Casa San Grato. What an amazing experience! It was 5 memorable days enjoying the house and the tours that Laura suggested. The kids loved the goat/cheese farm, hot air balloon, truffle hunt! And the Christmas dinner with a private chef with an exclusive menu. Laura and Marina were amazing. Thanks! The house has absolutely everything you need. Is super clean, comfortable, well organized. This is the perfect house in the region with a big group.
    Claudia
We were a group of 10 people, and everyone felt comfortable right away—especially thanks to Laura’s very warm and friendly welcome. The kitchen and barbecue area are extremely well equipped, and each bedroom has its own shower and WC. There’s plenty of space for everyone, and everything you need is provided (including enough pool towels/linen). Whenever we needed suggestions for things to do or help with reservations, Laura was quick to assist. The pool area is unbeatable, with a spectacular view. All the main attractions of the Langhe can be reached in about 20–30 minutes. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone—we will definitely come back again.
    Celine
Thanks a lot for a nice stay! We loved the house, so spacious and beautiful. We were a large group which was perfect, we all had our own rooms and bathrooms. Nice area with a few good restaurants within walking distance. We got to explore Piemonte by car, through beautiful landscape. The communication with Marina and Laura was great, they were always quick in their replies, always positive and helpful. We couldn't have asked for more. Would recommend this house to anyone if you are looking for a nice and quiet area. Chilling by the pool on hot days was perfect! We stayed most evenings by the house cooking ourselves and grilling outside. Well equipped kitchen and super dining area outside, and inside. The house has all you need! Thanks for making our holiday such a memorable one.
